Creating From Less
If you’ve been following me from the beginning you’ll remember flowing in my childhood room. 14 years later and it’s still my favourite practice space.
It’s not all that aesthetically pleasing nor does it have all that much space- but that’s also why I love it. With less.. I always become more. Such a paradox.
Whenever I find myself spun, lost or overwhelmed, I shove myself back into this small little space. When I feel that way I find that it’s best to dial it all back to simplicity. The reason I love this practice is because you really need nothing more than yourself and your own willingness to show up.
Over the years I’ve observed that my creativity is amplified when I am ‘resitricted’ or must make do with what I have in the moment. Whatever is produced in that headspace is always my best and I’m so easy to forget.
What good is external freedom if we continually put ourselves in false prisons of thinking we need more/ aren’t enough… more space, more stuff…. It’s actually all there just waiting for the proper attention and intention. It’s at your finger tips- stop looking around you and out there! So if you’re going to put yourself in a prison … use it to get prison fit lol.
Focused and unaffected by what others are doing or saying around you.
